A woman complained that her male neighbor went out to throw rubbish wearing only boxer shorts and sneak a peek into the direction of her house. The male neighbor denied all the allegations when interviewed, and instead accused the female neighbour of blocking the way, cursing, and even using violence. The dispute occurred at Block 435B, Bukit Batok West Avenue 5. The victim, Ms. Zeng (50 years old, self-employed), told reporters that she moved into the unit in the middle of last year and found that a male neighbor behaved strangely during the renovation, which made her feel uneasy. She said that the male neighbor lived on the same floor and often walked through the corridor shirtless. He also "peeked" into her unit many times and was caught by her and the maid. "During the renovation, only my maid and I were at home. He only wore shorts every time, hid and peeked, and tightened his pants when passing by, which looked obscene. At first I didn't say anything to him, but later I found that he peeked many times, so my husband spoke up to remind him to respect his neighbors." For this reason, the two families had a feud. Ms. Zeng pointed out that her husband once witnessed the male neighbor behaving strangely and stepped forward to question him, which almost led to a physical conflict. "Someone was swearing fiercely and holding a stick. We called the police and installed CCTV a few months later." The male neighbor involved, Mr. Wang (50 years old, semi-retired), refuted the woman's complaint. "I just went out to take out the trash. It's nothing to wear boxer shorts. I didn't look into her house." Mr. Wang claimed that in July last year, Ms. Zeng and her husband stopped him in the corridor and kicked his calf. He took two days of sick leave for this. He also pointed out that Ms. Zeng's husband also walked in the corridor in boxer shorts. Ms. Zeng pointed out that after the Chinese New Year this year, she found several chewing gums outside her house. She spent four or five hours checking the CCTV images before she found that the culprit might be the male neighbor. "The CCTV captured that whenever he passed by, there was chewing gum on the ground. I called the police because of this." Later, Ms. Zeng also used the One Service application to feedback to the authorities and she plans to deal with it through legal channels. "This is very unhygienic. Recently, many ants and cockroaches have appeared. If someone steps on them, they will be all over the floor. I wash the floor every day, and the water bill has increased from more than $200 to more than $300. I really can't stand it." According to observations, there are at least 14 chewing gum residues in the corridor, some of which have hardened and turned black. In response to this, the Chua Chu Kang Town Council pointed out that it had received feedback on March 8, and the cleaners had disposed of the chewing gum and thoroughly cleaned the area. The town council also posted a notice to remind residents to properly dispose of garbage. "Taking this opportunity, the town council would also like to remind residents that littering is an illegal act and may be fined for it." The town council pointed out that it hopes everyone will cooperate to ensure that residents have a comfortable living environment. Mr. Wang denied spitting out chewing gum, but accused the other party of harassing him at home and called the police for this. Mr. Wang claimed that last Mid-Autumn Festival, Ms. Zeng and her husband had harassed him at home, swore at him, and broke three potted plants worth a total of $200. "After I called the police, they made an arrest on the spot. A month ago, the police sent a letter notifying me that the investigation into the case had been concluded and that she had been given a 12-month conditional warning." For this reason, Mr. Wang also showed the reporter relevant recordings, videos and documents. When talking about this matter, Ms. Zeng completely denied Mr. Wang's statement and claimed that she had not done it. https://www.zaobao.com.sg/news/singapore/story20250316-6024407
