Al-Caliph vs ABFC Sharks GAME 1 Report 040109

It was a very closely contested match.

Caliph did more of the shooting in the first half. Sharks did their fair share in defending and also finding their form within 20 mins.

A through ball was given to Hafshya No.7 and in his own stride he took the ball and deliver a well-taken shot to put Sharks in lead.

Then Al-Caliph starts their attacking runs and Sharks absorb the pressure all the way with defenders Mamat No.11 (CPT), Fazli No.17, Johari and Woonie fending off the attacks.

The referee, blew for half time....

2nd Half

We went out looking for the 2nd Goal hoping to secure the game....Shots rang in from MidField, Left Wing and from the strikers as well but our constant efforts led to no goal haul.

With only 20 mins left, we switch to a more defensive approach in a bid to secure the 1 goal lead. Caliph sent more midfielders to look for that elusive opportunity to get a Draw.....

Their wait came to an end... It was from a Set piece. Sharks had already designated markers on the Caliph Strikers.... But with an overwhelming wave of midfielders and loosen marking, they got back 1 Goal and managed to Draw jus 10 mins from the end.

The feeling of being robbed lingers upon the players... Another formation was adopted to go all out to attack again... We started running at Caliph defenders but this time round they adopted a very defensive play hoping to secure the Draw.

At times, Caliph look threatening on the break but when Sharks gain possession, Caliph have to fall back quickly if not it would be back to Square 1 for them if Sharks manage to Capitalise. The movement and speed of the game heighten as both side wants a win out of today's game....alas the referee blew for the final whistle...

Each side gained a precious point for their season's opening game.

Final Score

Al-Caliph 1 - 1 ABFC Sharks

Man of the Match: Mamat

Mamat ability to fend off most of the attacks and had good control over the defenders was the main 2 factors which had helped Sharks strengthen their overall defensive play. Also he was the Team's Captain for today and had upheld the pressure on the opponent's strikers till the end.

ABFC Sharks vs Blackjack United GAME 2 Report 180109

Sharks starting arriving from 850am onwards....

Warm Up routine was practised and everyone could see that this outfit is organised...

0905 Game Starts.

We wanted to check out BlackJack UTD strong points and weaknesses before giving out our actual line-up. So we went for a more defensive formation.

We managed to find out some strong qualities and as stated previously they are strong in their midfield with 3 of them dominating control in their Mid Zone.

Our defenders were put to the test yet again as they were running down the flanks especially on our Left where Andy (LB) had to match them neck to neck through his side.

We nearly let in a goal as there were some shots rang in trying to find the early lead. Our defenders just cleared everything that were dished out by them.

Within minutes while trying to find our composure within our team, we manage to expose them with a through ball and Our Striker Hafsyha ran in by himself cutting to the left beating Black Jack's (RB) and GK leaving the net empty. Without bading an eyelash, he slot the goal, with that effort he maintain his 1 shot 1 kill predatory instincts.

Sharks leads the game by 1 Goal.

We needed to fend off the attacks further to avoid losing the lead as such our sub (LB) Johari was sent in to neutralise the speedy BlackJack Midfield on the Left.

Blackjack continues to pressure us using more midfielders to cloud the zone fighting for every ball in the hope of getting one back. Soon enough Sharks (LMD) No. 8 Bala was fouled for trying to chest the ball but referee saw the picture different as it seems like elbow to the ball instead. Worst of all, it was committed in the Penalty box.

Ref awards a Penalty.....Sharks feels the pressure breathing down their necks. With a step or 2, Blackjack (CMD) shot the ball to the right. Our Keeper Zal_No.18 guessed the direction correctly but the ball was delivered too fast and very near the woodwork that not even a World Class Keeper would had gotten that.

BlackJack Equalises...... All Squared at 1 a Pc.

Halftime Score: FC Sharks 1 - 1 Blackjack

2nd Half

More Subs were made to the line up, to ensure we get the result required to propel us nearer to the top of the table. We went with a more offensive Line-up sending in Cedric our (RM) and made a swop in the strike. This was one of our more attacking line-ups and very strict instructions were given in what we have to do if we got the lead in the 2nd half.

We started to fight for every ball and pressured them as much as we could by sending more people whenever we had a corner or freekick situation. Our efforts finally paid off, we sent in our taller players in a bid to head the ball in and it resulted in a frenzy of headers all having one objective in mind, Black Jacks trying to clear out and Sharks trying to score........ But with too much pressure given, Blackjack made a mistake in heading the ball towards their goalmouth resulting in a Goal...... This situation would leave a bad distaste to any team who were in the similar circumstances.

Ball back to half way line and restarted....

They started to attack a lot more from their Left side this time, the defensive display by Fazli was put to the test. He cut every ball that comes from his side.

Tackles from him was head on with only one word in mind and its known as "Accuracy". Every tackle he made, it was at the ball and each time he slide, the opponent's possession was taken away.

He sums up the game with a display of good control juggling the ball with the opponent watching on from the back as there was no way the opponent gonna dispossess this top form Defender.

Coming to the last 10 mins, BlackJack did everything they could and they very nearly succeeded in getting the equaliser...but with the ball been fought for every given opportunity, Sharks managed to hold onto their 1 Goal Lead which they very much need to stand a chance in going to the top half of the league table.

Soon it was Full time....

Sharks Won 2 - 1 and stretch their unbeaten record to 18 in all Games....

Pictures will be uploaded for all to view soon....Pls be a little tolerant if the resolution is not good as we will be getting a digi camn soon and will show better pics in our next game.

Man of the Match: Fazli

Fazli had displayed great defensive work in the back line and eliminated all threats from the opponents. Plus his cool display of holding the ball when the team was under pressure is very commendable. Qualities as such do really set an example for all to follow and be in awe of his good display.

CHARLIE FC vs ABFC SHARKS Game 3 Report 080209

A Good Game which went our way.

We Secured Game No.19 in our Unbeaten Run for all games. Also got our 1st Clean Sheet for the league.

First Half

It was nerve racking in this Half. We had most of our Defenders turning up in time and the rest was on their way as we were playing at the west area whereas most players stayed East or North.

Develope the best Defensive plan i could with the numbers. But least did i expect, Our first Goal was a Spectacular combination of passes finish with a Cross from Shameel to our Striker Hafysha who headed the first Goal in with a first touch.... All of us raise up in Unity as we were in awe of the finishing.

Sharks Leads by 1 Goal

The remaining of the half was pretty straight forward as the opponents were doing their best to break us down. With that, i told the defenders to keep the game clean by making sure we break down their momentum and Cornerkicks set-pieces.

2nd Half

Sent in dxvolution, Danny, Syed and Cedric.

Adopted a very attacking game as Shooting is a Must to win Today's game. Ofloaded these 3 out of 4 into attacking positions. We even deliberate where the shooting line is for everyone...

We begin in defensive Fashion first so as to settle the players a little. Danny got a ball from Syed, he took the ball by himself on the left side of the pitch, managed to cut 2 players and this time round he is inside the box. Charlie FC's Defender gave a tackle, unfortunately he missed the ball. Ref blows for Penalty. Bhai our on-form Keeper, took the ball, upon the referee's whistle, he took a shot and got the Goal!

Sharks Leads by 2 Goals

Ball Restarts, After this Goal, the team went all out to pressure Charlie...Cedric got the better of the midfielder and he took the ball in by himself and gave a shot and it resulted in a GOALLLLLLLLL!!!!!!

Sharks Scores 3

dxvolution was given the ball, on the right side after we seize possession and he pass the ball to Syed. Without thinking, he took the ball in and the Defenders were not focusing in their marking and was caught offguard. Syed then race in till he reach the edge of the box and he gave a shot as well...... Sharks SCORESSSSSSS!!!!!!

We got it up to 4 Goals....

Ball Restart, We kept up the pressure again.... Bhai manage to send a high ball deep into the opponet GK Box and Hafshya got the better of the defenders and head in using a 1st touch and scores another to add his tally to 2 Goals for this game.....He maintains his record of 1 Goal per game...

Sharks Leads by 5

This time round Charlie ran amok as they were attacking from all over without a system. This unexpected play cause a lot of problems as we had difficulty marking every player thus making it very tough to defend. However in one of our break, Our DMF Fahmy, Got the ball and went right. He manage to outrun the opponent's RB and he slot in the ball from a very acute angle to clinch No.6. Its a top notch shot.

We led 6 to nothing

This time round we tried attacking from the Left using Danny. He took the ball down the flank, got through 2 opponents and he unleash a shot using his right Foot.......He SCORESSSSS.......He brought No.7 to Us.

2 Defenders were tried out today. There are Eddy and Faisal who is also my Keeper. They faired well. Our defenders did an amazing job keeping the opponents at bay. There were Mamat, Woonie, Jo and Fazli.

We had our Midfielders going in at Full Speed today by running down the flanks with their best efforts. Bala and Shameel

We moved up the league table slightly. Game No.3 is over and we have 17 more to go. We will be looking forward to our Next Game on the 22nd Feb.....Do stay tune for more updates.

Man of the Match: Hafsyha

He maintain his scoring form for the team and is admirable for his runs and heading today. He deserve the Man of the Match Award because he scored not only with his legs but also using his Head. Getting us that first Goal was Crucial. Well Done! Smile

ABFC Sharks vs ACES UTD GAME 4 Report 220209

Shark's Unbeaten Run Stops at No.19 today with ACES giving us a taste of hard soccer.

Ball Started..... and within mins, ACES Got a 1 Goal Lead out from a Loop that caught the whole defense and our Keeper offguard as well.

The Goal went straight in and we had to pick ourselves up from that early lead.

ACES Leads by 1

ACES was playing hard soccer with a lot of unnecessary elbows and high tackles but pity the referee did not see those moments and as a result our players had to take a hard lesson from them.

Guess what, out from nowhere ACES defense slipped and Hafsyha came in and finish that mistake with a Goal.

Sharks Equalises......

Soon ACES started to dominate the game with long balls and that put a lot of pressure on our players. Today the defenders had it worst...This can be the worst outing as we did not click as a unit.

Soon Enough our lack of form and momentum to handle the hard game rewarded ACES with another Goal.

ACES Lead 2 - 1

Half Time

2nd Half

Tried to go in with more grit but our players just did not bring their A game and as a result we were under tremendous pressure, every high ball was fought for and ACES managed to capitalise in getting maximum possession.

With this strategy, they got in another 2 Goals and Sealed the Game.

Final Score 4 - 1.

Sharks Learnt a lesson today, it is not everyday you will meet a team that will play a social game. Plus the referee had allowed an Offside ball to continue hence resulting in a very devasting situation when we were nearing the end of the 1st half. That Goal kind of tested our mentality in whether we were up the task when the heat is on.

We must also give credit to ACES for taking their chances well today and we did not fight for every ball as they did. It is an eye opener and this league has begun to heat up....Will we win this Sunday?.....Stay tune for our next game report.

We will look forward to the next game as we will have to pick ourselves up fast and move on from this.

VALIDUS XI vs ABFC SHARKS Game Report 5 010309

Today winning is a Must.

We had to capitalise our chances so we can maintain our top half position of the league standings. Even winning the game will only guarantee us a 5th Position.

We head off to a slow start. Though we got an Early Goal from Danny, we were making lots of basic mistakes. For example after getting the possession, we will clear to safety inaccurately as a result giving the ball back to the opponents.

In that sense we were limited to very little chances in scoring and making an impact. Today at least we see a little more bite in our defensive play due to the return of our RB Fazli and DM Fahmy. They gave more stability to the defence.

2nd Half,

We change a few players, needed to get more goals. Hafsyha gave us 1 Goal from an individual effort which was assisted by Our CB Naz.

Then we started shooting at the opponents, Danny tried to shoot for goal but it deflected off the keeper and then without 2nd thought Our L Mid Arab shot again and it went straight in giving Us Goal Number 3.

Hafysha again was assisted by Fahmy and got Us No.4.... We hope to stay on track with this winning effort.

Man of the Match: Hafsyha

He got us 2 Goals from the game and set the momentum for the team to press on for the badly needed goals. Kudos to him.....Well Done! Smile

ABFC Sharks vs Al-Caliph GAME 8 Report 100509

A spectacular game of Wits and Spirit.

We only had 11 players due to the weather as the organisers had always cancelled out the games when ever there were pre showers on the pitches. Due to this fact some players assumed the worst for today as well.

No matter what the game must still go on.

We need to defend well and take our chances properly as this fixture is one of the decider for the season.

1st Half

FC Sharks kick off..... Within 10 mins a Freekick was given. Fazli drive through a low ball and straight at the keeper but due to the strong flight of the ball, the keeper only manage to punch and that drove the ball towards the sky, our new comer and Striker Zafran, followed through and the ball landed right in front him and he tap the ball to Goal..... Sharks Leads by 1 Goal...!!!

Al Caliph up their game speed and tried to gain possession and challenge for every ball..... As a matter a fact, they hit the Goal poles 3 times from many attempts at goal.... Its a very elusive period for them as the goal seems to be coming very soon.

Our Striker Hafshya, took on the defence and spotted the GK out of position and he send in a lop and Got the team another Goal..... His Great Vision had got us Goal No.2...!

Half time with Sharks Leading 2 - 0

2nd Half

Al Caliph increase their attacking options and sent in more forwards to impose their presence, this effort paid off as they got one back almost immediately due to poor marking from all.

1 player had to fall out due to severe cramp. I went in as L Mid. With the goal scored by Al Caliph, all we could think off is to defend as well as we can. Then a Corner kick was given, I took it and sent the ball into the box, Hafshya tried a shot but it rebounded to Zafran and he too took a shot and............ He scores..... The newcomer does it Again...... He chalks up No.2 in his 1st Debut. Sharks Leads 3 - 1!

Another player Syed was cramping up as well. Al Caliph gathered and their Coach gave final instructions.... They started attacking from the left side knowing that is our weak link for today's game. They managed to get the much needed goal to put the pressure back on us....... Shraks still leading by a single goal to 3 - 2.

We just composed ourselves and started another attack. Our Striker Hafshya, took on the defenders by himself, after pulling all the defenders attention onto him, he releases the Ball for Danny who took the ball in further and he beats Al Caliph L Back, takes another tap and managed to beat the keeper as well and without any delay he tap the ball in........SHARKS SCORES AGAIN...............!!!!!!!!! An euphoria erupted from all of us as we manage to capitalise from each goal we had conceded....

We lead 4 - 2 with a few more minutes to go. AL Caliph sent in all numbers on the left and put more pressure onto us and with that move our Keeper gave away a indirect freekick in the Penalty Box due to an infringement. Al Caliph needs this Goal to come and Sharks send all their players in to choke up the goal mouth.

Al Caliph sent the ball to our feet and with that Fazli cleared it to safety. Sharks breathe easier for this scare.....Finally, the whistle came again and all the burden of pressure just ease off into thin air.

Man of the match award goes to everyone and it was hard deciding who. But i feel Zafran should take this cos he got us the decider and Scored 2 very Crucial Goals for his 1st Debut.

Man of the Match: Zafran

Our Captain Syed, did a lot of great distribution today. Andy cut out a lot of high ball. Fazli handled the pressure very well. Jo played with an injured ankle. Alu, defended each ball very well. Danny runs on teh right was breath taking. Hafshya selfless play showed a class of quality by its own. Adam, held as best as he could for the Mid. Isk came to help us on the left. Overall its a Good Game.

Al Caliph did very well too. Always enjoyed playing with them as they are a discipline outfit and they let their skills do the talking. This game could had gone to anyone..... Kudos to Caliph!
